CONCIERTOS MÍNIMOS III - A# Three hours of chained music, an experiment in small volumes, an encounter both intimate and collective.

Following up to the Conciertos mínimos Como continuación de los Conciertos mínimos, on May 12 2011 we brought together six projects interested in exploring moderate volume and direct contact with audiences. With help from the attendants, we turned the space into a collection of coushins and carpets. The title, A# (“La sharp” in the anglosaxon musical notation system) references the intervals of sustained sounds that connected the performances throughout the evening, unwinding in a great collective ending: the slow sum of the twenty-something musicians at minimum volume, that grew until it became a tsunami.

We had the pleasure of having, this time:
Narcoléptica
Marcus Doo & the Secret Family
the Coro de Mujeres del Molino (Women choir from El Molino school)
En busca del pasto
The Secret Society
and
ELM (Experimental Little Monkey)

To accompany each set, we prepared different video-still lifes with symbolic elements for each group (see an example below). The order of the concerts was kept secret until that very day.

We were kindly hosted by Studio Banana through their open call for cultural projects. Searching for an active and involved audience, the activity was completely free but with a limited number of invitations due to the space restrictions. To come, all people had to do was send an e-mail asking for an invitation. In exchange we asked for punctuality, bringing a cushion and respecting the volume, thus being part of an unusual experience where moderate volumes would be explored in the search for an intimate and direct experience.

Soon we'll upload a video of the concerts and also there will be more editions in unusual places with wonderful musicians... write to us if you wish to be added to our mailin list, it will be a pleasure to let you know.
